Responsibilities:
- Float to various ICU and intermediate care units including Medical ICU, Thoracic Cardiovascular ICU, Coronary Care Unit, Surgical Trauma ICU (Level 1), Neuro & Neurosurgery ICU, Critical Care and Intermediate Care Special Pathogens Unit (COVID), Thoracic Cardiovascular Intermediate Unit, Surgical Trauma Intermediate Unit, Neuro & Neurosurgery Intermediate Unit, ED Boarders (admitted to hospital but boarding in ED prior to room assignment).
- Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill patients in diverse ICU settings.
- Follow hospital policies including UVAs float policy and adhere to safety protocols such as BLS and ACLS.
- Document patient care accurately in Epic Electronic Health Records.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Flexibility for block scheduling with variable shifts and alternating weekends and holidays.
- Maintain compliance with all clinical and hospital standards during the assignment.
