Job Details:

Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse

Location: Chesapeake, VA

Setting: Hospital

Pay Range: 1950.52 - 2048.05

Schedule: 07:00 - 19:30

Contract Length: 13 weeks

Candidate Type: Traveler

Requirements: Active Virginia or Compact RN license; proficiency in Epic; strong neuro critical care experience; BLS (American Heart Association); ACLS (American Heart Association); NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS); three years of critical care experience preferred or strong candidates with less experience considered; previous travel experience preferred; must be willing to float to Stepdown Unit, Emergency Department, or Medical-Surgical units; 48-hour contracts with overtime billed after 48 hours; candidates must work two of the three winter holidays; local candidates within 50 miles are not eligible; thorough review of candidate history required; no license or background hits.

Responsibilities:

• Provide critical care nursing to ICU patients in a hospital setting.
• Manage ventilators, IV drips, telemetry, and monitor patient status.
• Respond to emergencies, including conscious sedation and dysrhythmia management.
• Float to other units such as Stepdown, Emergency Department, or Medical-Surgical units as needed.
• Follow safety and compliance protocols, including licensure and background verification.
