Schedule: 36-hour orientation provided; 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio across all shifts; unit capacity of 32 beds

Highlights:

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU/Stepdown) caring for diverse patient populations including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Comprehensive skill set required including telemetry monitoring, cardiac and vasoactive drip titration, and non-invasive airway management
• EPIC charting system utilized for documentation
• Robust interdisciplinary support including respiratory therapy, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and social services
• Assignment runs through February 28, 2026
• Some emergency department or medical-surgical/telemetry experience required in work history

Requirements:

• Active Registered Nurse license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of progressive care or stepdown nursing experience
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• Previous experience with 1:4 patient ratios preferred
• Proficiency in telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Competency in IV insulin and heparin protocols, cardiac and vasoactive drip titration, blood product administration, tracheostomy management, wound care/wound vac, and non-invasive airway devices (CPAP/BIPAP)
• Experience with ER observation/holding or medical-surgical telemetry required
• Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Two professional references required: at least one from a manager, director, or charge nurse in a leadership capacity
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccination not required
• Ability to complete Ohio fingerprinting process immediately upon contract signing
