Schedule: 36-hour orientation period; 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio across all shifts (days, nights, weekends); daily census of approximately 32 patients

Highlights:

• Care for a diverse patient population including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Advanced skill set required: telemetry monitoring, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration, IV insulin and heparin protocols, and renal failure management
• EPIC charting system in use with robust interdisciplinary support including respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and social services
• Must have ER experience or ER observation/holding combined with medical-surgical or telemetry background
• Comprehensive orientation and access to physical therapy, radiology, interpretation services, and unit secretary support
• Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccination not required

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in progressive care or stepdown settings
• Active RN license: compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Experience with 1:4 patient ratios; EPIC charting preferred
• Community hospital, LTAC, and Trauma Level I or II experience preferred
• Demonstrated competency in telemetry and dysrhythmia management, PCU/stepdown care, blood product administration, tracheostomy management, wound care, and non-invasive airway management (CPAP/BIPAP)
• Two professional references required: at least one must be from a formal leadership role (manager, director, or supervisor); Charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted
• Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting process immediately upon contract signing; strict compliance deadline the Tuesday prior to start date
• Former employees eligible if separated from facility for six months or more; current employees of the facility are ineligible for travel positions
