Location: Columbus, Ohio

Schedule: 12-hour rotating Day/Night shifts; weekend shifts vary by unit needs; 13-16 week contract

Highlights:

• Float between Oncology Medical-Surgical and Progressive Care Unit (PCU) assignments within a secure corrections healthcare facility
• Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:3 for PCU, 1:4-5 for Medical-Surgical units
• Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management
• Diverse case mix including active oncology treatment, surgical recovery, cardiac monitoring, respiratory support, and complex medical conditions
• 72 hours of orientation provided; comprehensive interdisciplinary support including Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, Rapid Response Teams, and Physical Therapy
• Staff safety prioritized in a controlled corrections environment with Corrections Officers providing security

Requirements:

• Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; oncology experience preferred but not required
• Epic charting experience required
• Current certifications: BLS (required), ACLS (required), NIHSS (required)
• Competencies in MS/Telemetry, PCU/Stepdown care, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line management, IV starts, heparin protocols, cardiac drip management, PCA, respiratory support (CPAP/BIPAP, High Flow Nasal Cannula, tracheostomy care), feeding tube management, and pre/post hemodialysis care
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Two professional references required (at least one from a manager, director, or formal leadership role)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process immediately upon contract signing
