Schedule: 13-16 week assignment, 24/7 unit staffing, 3-4 patient ratio, float to Emergency Department as needed
Highlights:
- Unique intermediate care unit serving hematology, oncology, and sickle cell patients with urgent and non-urgent conditions
- Scheduled patient appointments from primary teams and oncologists, typically less acute than emergency room settings
- Small, supportive unit environment fostering strong team relationships and skill development
- Epic EMR system, 14-bed unit with daily census of 14 patients
- 76 hours of orientation provided
- Interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Valid compact or Ohio state RN license in hand at time of submission
- BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) certification
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification
- Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)
- Nursing education from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- 2 professional references, including at least 1 from a manager or director
