Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 8-hour shifts, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM with on-call rotation for weekends
Highlights:
- Provide compassionate end-of-life care to hospice patients averaging 5 home visits per day
- Work with a daily census of approximately 63 patients, primarily geriatric population
- Utilize Epic EMR system for comprehensive patient documentation
- 40-hour comprehensive orientation plus facility onboarding to ensure success
- 13-week assignment with flexibility for full-time hours
- First-time travelers welcome with appropriate hospice and skilled nursing background
Requirements:
- Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
- Home Health/Hospice and Skilled Nursing experience required
- Current BLS certification required; Flu vaccine required
- Epic charting system experience strongly preferred
- Comprehensive end-of-life care competencies including pain management, symptom assessment, cultural awareness, and patient/family education
- Proficiency in WHO Analgesic Ladder, pain scale utilization, medication administration, breakthrough dosing, and palliative symptom management
- Knowledge of Medicare state regulations, advance directives, and hospice intake processes
- Strong assessment skills including altered mental status, pressure ulcer staging, and management of nausea, constipation, cachexia, and other end-stage symptoms
