Schedule: Night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week, 13-week assignment; every other weekend and every other holiday required

Highlights:

• 12-bed neuroscience intermediate care unit specializing in critical care and neuroscience principles
• Patient population includes neuro trauma, subarachnoid and intracerebral hemorrhage, post-operative spine patients, and ENT oncology with flap reconstruction
• 1:3 patient ratio with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, and rapid response teams
• Epic EMR system; 24 hours of orientation provided
• Care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient populations with diverse neurological and neurosurgical conditions
• Up to 40 hours of pre-approved time off available during the contract

Requirements:

• Active or pending Virginia RN license (must be in hand the Wednesday before start date)
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required before start (may submit pending)
• Epic EMR experience required
• BSN preferred
• Experience with neuroscience stepdown, PCU/IMC, or similar intermediate care settings strongly preferred
• Competency in managing arterial lines, blood product administration, craniotomy patients, CVA care, heparin and insulin protocols, lumbar drains, and vasoactive drips
• Willingness to float within scope of practice as required by facility policy
• Flu vaccination required with no exemptions
• Professional references required
