Schedule: Every other weekend required; 6 weekend shifts (Saturday or Sunday) per 6 weeks; 4:1 patient ratio; no call
Highlights:
- Float assignment to Intermediate Care, Medical Surgical, Telemetry (cardiac and non-cardiac) units
- Advanced patient population including pulmonary, cardiac, and trauma cases requiring complex care
- Epic charting system with required orientation and training
- Collaborative interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, pharmacy, and more
- Advanced airway management experience including tracheostomies, ventilators, high flow oxygen, and BIPAP
- Comprehensive cardiac care including pre/post catheterization, cardiac drips, dysrhythmia management, and telemetry monitoring
Requirements:
- Active Virginia nursing license or Compact license in hand at time of submission (pending licenses will not be accepted)
- ACLS and BLS certifications required; NIH preferred
- Cardiac Telemetry certification required
- Minimum 3 years of nursing experience; previous travel experience required
- PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience required
- Demonstrated competency in management of dysrhythmias, telemetry monitoring, rapid response teams, pre/post cardiac catheterization care, central line and PICC line management, heparin protocols, and cardiac drip titration
- Experience with isolation precautions required
- Experience with traumatic brain injury, peripheral nerve block catheters, surgical drains, wound care/wound vac, and starting IVs preferred
- Epic EMR experience required with documented months of use in the past year
- Charge experience preferred
- COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only); Flu vaccine required during flu season (medical exemptions only)
