Description
Start Date: November 13, 2025
Location: Corpus Christi, Texas
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Day and night shifts available on a 22-bed acute medical/surgical unit. Patient ratios maximum 6:1. Floating to other med/surg units as needed.
Highlights:
- Acute care medical/surgical unit with diverse patient population including neuro, CVA, TIA, and AMS patients
- Collaborative team environment with charge nurse, RN colleagues, PCAs, and unit support staff
- Standard nursing equipment and Meditech EMR system
- Opportunity to utilize full scope of med/surg nursing skills including IV therapy, catheter care, central line maintenance, and more
- Day shift: 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 2 PCAs, and unit secretary support
- Night shift: 4 RNs with 1-2 PCAs for patient care support
Requirements:
- Active RN license in Texas or compact state
- Minimum 1 year of acute med/surg experience within the last year (required)
- Demonstrated ability to manage 4-6 patients safely and effectively
- Experience with standard nursing procedures: IV insertions, urinary catheter insertion/maintenance, central line maintenance, medication administration, NGT insertion/maintenance, and continuous bladder irrigation
- Preferred: 2+ years of experience caring for neuro patients including CVA, TIA, and altered mental status

Medsurg floors have 2 med rooms 2 pyxis in each room half your meds are always in either room either machine. The meds aren't alphabetical in the pyxis or anything so u have to check every machine for your meds.
