Job Opportunity – Progressive Care Unit RN – Ohio

Start Date: Not specified
Location: Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Self-schedule requests available; first week orientation Monday-Friday dayshift, second week 36 hours on-unit with preceptor

Highlights:

  • 36-bed Medical Oncology Telemetry unit with over 24 PCU-level beds and high-acuity progressive care focus
  • Patient ratios of 1:3 for PCU and 1:4-5 for Medical-Surgical Telemetry
  • Self-scheduling system allows you to enter preferred schedule requests before final posting
  • Solid tumor, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology patient population
  • Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Rapid Response Teams, and Pharmacy
  • 72 hours of orientation with structured preceptorship program

Requirements:

  • Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
  • Minimum 2 years of high-acuity PCU patient experience required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Oncology experience preferred but not required
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred
  • Education from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • Proficiency in required skills including: interpretation of dysrhythmias, use of rapid response teams, feeding tube care, accessing ports, blood product administration, central and peripheral line management, PICC line management, IV starts, heparin protocols, cardiac drip management, PCA pumps, chest tubes, CPAP/BIPAP, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, nasal cannula, and tracheostomy management
  • Two professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal leadership)
  • Willingness to float to other PCU or Medical-Surgical Oncology units
  • Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon contract signing
