Schedule: 12-hour shifts, every other weekend and holiday as applicable; no block scheduling; flexible floating between psychiatric emergency department and inpatient behavioral health units

Highlights:

• Work primarily in a Psychiatric Emergency Department with patient ratios of 1:4
• Float opportunities to inpatient behavioral health units with ratios up to 1:8
• Treat adult and geriatric patients requiring emergency psychiatric evaluation and crisis intervention
• Experience with both voluntary and involuntary commitments, CIWA protocols, and de-escalation techniques
• Up to 7 days of pre-approved requested time off available
• Local candidates welcome; first-time travelers accepted

Requirements:

• Active New Jersey or Compact state RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of inpatient psychiatric nursing experience required
• BLS certification required; ACLS and PALS preferred
• Must complete Iron Temple de-escalation training within 14 days of start date (out-of-pocket cost approximately $52 plus tax)
• Strong skills in verbal de-escalation, suicide risk assessment, and crisis intervention
• Experience with behavioral health emergencies, managing assaultive behavior, and physical hold protocols highly desirable
• Proficiency in managing anxiety disorders, bipolar disorder, depressive disorders, eating disorders, and suicidal behaviors
