Description
Start Date: January 26, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts on a Medical-Surgical Telemetry Oncology unit. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period and may include days, nights, or a combination based on department needs. Self-scheduling with accommodations for requests balanced against unit requirements. Weekends variable based on unit needs.
Highlights:
- Specialized oncology unit caring for adult and geriatric patients with bladder, renal, ovarian, cervical, and endometrial cancers
- Comprehensive treatment modalities including chemotherapy administration, clinical trials, brachytherapy, and continuous bladder irrigation
- Targeted nurse-to-patient staffing ratios of 1:4, adjusted to 1:5 as needed
- EPIC charting system with robust interdisciplinary support including rapid response teams, pharmacy, respiratory services, and more
- 13-16 week contract with 72 hours of orientation including one week of day shift and 36 hours of on-unit preceptor training
- Strong focus on infection prevention protocols and patient safety initiatives
Requirements:
- Active Registered Nurse license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Proficiency in chemotherapy administration, telemetry monitoring, and interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Experience with IV therapy, blood product administration, central line maintenance, and PCA pumps
- EPIC charting system experience required
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy certification preferred
- Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Two professional references required: one from a manager/director or formal leadership role, second may be from a Charge RN
