Description
Start Date: January 26, 2026
Location: Brownsville, Texas
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Day or night shift available; 12-hour shifts with rotating weekends (minimum 6 weekend shifts per month, Friday through Sunday)
Highlights:
- 10-bed Level III/IV NICU with 8-bed stepdown nursery providing advanced neonatal critical care
- Patient ratios of 1:3 standard or 1:1 for high-acuity patients
- Collaborative team of approximately 20 nursing staff with dedicated charge nurse support on every shift
- Exposure to advanced equipment including HFNC, ventilators, SiPAP, HFOV, central lines, and feeding/IV pumps
- EMR system: CPN/Meditech
- Opportunity to float to newborn nursery for well-rounded perinatal experience
Requirements:
- Active Texas RN license or ability to obtain prior to start date
- Minimum 2 years of Level III or Level IV NICU experience required; 4+ years strongly preferred
- Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
- STABLE (Sugar, Temperature, Airway, Blood Pressure, Lab Work, Emotional Support) certification required
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
