Description
Start Date: February 23, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour shifts (day/night rotation available), self-scheduling with flexible requests accepted, 1:4–1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio, variable weekend coverage based on unit needs
Highlights:
- Specialize in caring for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients in a 24-bed medical hematology unit
- Self-scheduling system with flexibility to accommodate your preferred work schedule
- High-acuity care including frequent blood product administration, IV antibiotics, and electrolyte management
- Epic EMR system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory, physical therapy, and rapid response teams
- Two-week orientation: first week Monday–Friday dayshift, followed by 36 hours of on-unit precepted orientation
- No chemotherapy certification required (ONS Chemo Cert preferred but not mandatory)
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience required; travel nursing experience required
- Valid Ohio RN license or compact license in hand at time of submission
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
- Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, interpretation of dysrhythmias, and use of rapid response teams
- Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central line management
- Competency in PICC line management, peripheral line care, and starting IVs
- Epic charting system experience required
- Oncology experience preferred but not required
- Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccination not required
- Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Two professional references required: at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; charge RN acceptable for second reference

Important Compliance Notes:
- Strict compliance deadline of Tuesday prior to start date with no exceptions
- Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed immediately upon signing contract; delays may result in start date changes
- Candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to Ohio for fingerprinting as soon as possible after booking
- Former employees eligible after 6 months away from the facility; current employees ineligible for travel positions
- Float requirements may include assignment to other medical-surgical oncology units as needed
