Description
Start Date: February 23, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 12-hour shifts, variable weekend coverage based on unit needs. Self-scheduling with request submission process.
Highlights:
- Mixed acuity Progressive Care Unit specializing in Surgical Oncology patients
- 16-week assignment with comprehensive 72-hour orientation including one week of daytime classroom and on-unit preceptorship
- Staffing ratios of 1:4 to 1:5 patients on a busy 36-bed surgical unit
- Work with complex patient populations including breast, thyroid, melanoma, hepatobiliary, colorectal, and reconstructive plastic surgery cases
- Epic EMR charting system with strong interdisciplinary support including IV teams, pharmacy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams
- Float opportunities to other acute care oncology units within the system
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) nursing experience required
- Valid RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
- Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- ONS Chemotherapy certification preferred
- Epic charting system experience required
- Experience with cardiac telemetry, chest tubes, dysrhythmia management, insulin and heparin drips, and tracheostomy care
- Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager or director
- Ability to complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon contract signing
