Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 0600-1900; 1:2 patient ratio; call once every four weeks; weekend coverage varies

Highlights:

• Phase I PACU recovery unit supporting a diverse surgical case mix including vascular, neurosurgery, orthopedics, gynecology, urology, bariatrics, plastics, ENT, ophthalmology, and pediatrics
• Opportunity to manage ICU-level patients in the PACU setting and occasionally recover surgical patients in the ICU
• Work with state-of-the-art equipment including cardiac monitors, arterial lines, ICP monitoring, fetal heart monitors, and wound vacs
• Epic charting system and comprehensive, individualized orientation tailored to experience level
• May float to short stay unit for overflow; 7 days maximum requested time off allowed
• 24/7 operation supporting OR needs with a daily census of 75-100 patients

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• Active NC or Compact RN license
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Phase I-II PACU experience with ICU background required (must have 1-2 years ICU experience for screening)
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
• Experience with arterial line management, dysrhythmia recognition, central line care, ICP monitoring, ventilated patients, conscious sedation, and pediatric patients
• Comfortable managing post-epidural patients and complex pharmacology including antiarrhythmics, anticoagulation therapy, and emergency medications
