Job Opportunity – Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) RN – North Carolina

Start Date: March 2, 2026
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), 36 hours per week, every other weekend required

Highlights:

  • 8-10 bed specialized PICU caring for pediatric patients ages 0-17 years
  • Focus on neurology post-operative care with the region's only pediatric board-certified neurosurgeon
  • Patient ratios of 1:2 based on acuity, occasionally 1:3
  • Diverse case mix including respiratory, neurosurgery, and hematology/oncology patients
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • 13-week assignment with up to 7 days pre-approved time off

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) experience required
  • Active North Carolina or Compact RN license (pending acceptable for submission, must be in hand at start)
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications required
  • Experience with Epic charting system required
  • Must be comfortable floating as needed within the facility
  • Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
  • Neurology experience, IV placement, and lab draw skills strongly preferred
