Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Oncology PCU/Medical-Surgical – Ohio

Start Date: March 23, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts (days/nights); assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on departmental needs

Highlights:

  • 13-16 week travel contract in a specialized corrections healthcare setting
  • Float between Oncology PCU and Medical-Surgical units with varying patient ratios (1:3 PCU, 1:4-5 MS)
  • Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management
  • Diverse patient population including active oncology treatment, solid tumors, hematology, and general medical-surgical diagnoses
  • Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, PT, Respiratory Services, and more
  • 72 hours of orientation provided; one pre-approved time off period available

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience in Medical-Surgical and/or Telemetry; at least 1 year of current specialty experience required
  • Epic charting experience required; oncology experience preferred but not required
  • Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
  • Current certifications: BLS (required), ACLS, NIHSS
  • Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • Proficiency in telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, IV therapy, blood product administration, central and peripheral line management, PCA, respiratory support (BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, tracheostomy care), and feeding tube management
  • Experience with cardiac drips, heparin and IV insulin protocols, pre/post hemodialysis care, and ABG interpretation
  • Ability to complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon contract signing
  • Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager or director
