Description
Start Date: March 2, 2026
Location: Charlottesville, Virginia
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 13-week assignment, night shift, 36 or 48 hours per week with self-scheduling model, every other weekend and every other holiday
Highlights:
- Work in a comprehensive children's hospital with Level IV NICU and Pediatric ICU
- Care for diverse patient populations including neonates, infants, pediatrics, and adolescents across multiple units
- Gain experience with complex congenital heart programs, high-risk deliveries, and advanced ventilator modalities
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team providing specialty care in over 30 pediatric specialties
- Self-scheduling model allows input on preferred shifts with management support
- Competency with specialized equipment including Bunnell Jet Ventilator and HFOV 3100A
Requirements:
- Valid Virginia state Respiratory Therapist license (must have in hand at time of submission; pending licenses not accepted for RRT positions)
- Current RRT, BLS, and NRP certifications required
- PALS and ACCS certifications preferred
- Minimum 1 year of respiratory therapy experience
- Level IV NICU experience required
- Cardiac PICU experience preferred
- Competency in high frequency jet ventilation, oscillating ventilation, and advanced pediatric respiratory interventions
- Epic charting system experience required
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions); COVID-19 vaccine not required
