Job Opportunity – Labor & Delivery Nurse – North Carolina

Start Date: March 2, 2026
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 – 07:15), 36 hours per week, every other weekend (minimum 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)

Highlights:

  • High-volume, fast-paced birthing center averaging 20 births per 24 hours and 300+ births per month
  • 2:1 patient ratio with comprehensive intrapartum, high-risk antepartum, and postpartum care
  • Includes obstetrical triage unit with 40 visits per day and 30-40 daily admits
  • Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management and SBAR communication protocols
  • 13 to 26-week contracts available with flexibility for qualified candidates
  • Scrubs provided; 24-hour paid orientation included

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years Labor & Delivery experience; 3 years preferred
  • Experience in high-volume setting with 300+ births per month required
  • Current BLS, NRP, and AWHONN Intermediate (or C-EFM) certifications
  • Proficiency in circulating for Cesarean sections, sterile vaginal exams, and immediate newborn care
  • Epic charting experience required
  • North Carolina or Compact nursing license (must be active by start date)
  • Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
  • Comfortable with floating to Special Maternity Care high-risk OB unit as needed
