Description
Start Date: March 23, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift (day/night option available), self-scheduling with variable weekends based on unit needs
Highlights:
- 13-16 week travel contract at a comprehensive 318-bed cancer center with specialized oncology units
- Float to multiple Med Surg and PCU Oncology units including BMT, Acute Leukemia, Hematology, Medical Oncology, and Surgical Oncology
- Staffing ratios: PCU 1:3-1:4, Med Surg Telemetry 1:4-1:5
- Epic EMR system with interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
- Comprehensive orientation: first week Mon-Fri dayshift, followed by five bedside shifts before independent practice
- Oncology experience preferred but not required for candidates with strong high-acuity Med Surg Telemetry background
Requirements:
- Active RN license: Valid Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission
- Minimum 2+ years of high-acuity Med Surg Telemetry or higher level experience required
- Travel nursing experience required; former facility employees eligible after 6 months away
- Certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Experience with patient ratios up to 1:5 required
- Skills required: PCU/stepdown, rapid response/code teams, IV insulin protocols, accessing/managing ports, PCA, chemotherapy administration and monitoring, chest tubes, high flow nasal cannula, telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management, central line care, blood product administration, and more
- Education from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- 2 professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal leadership; charge RN acceptable for second reference)
