Start Date: March 9, 2026
Location: Winston Salem, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week; every other weekend required

Highlights:

• ICU step-down unit with 20 beds and an average daily census of 18 patients
• Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-4 with strong critical care focus including vasoactive drip management
• 13-week contract with orientation support and interdisciplinary team collaboration
• Epic charting system and Pyxis medication management
• Diverse patient population including post-op, respiratory distress, GI bleeds, and post-rapid response patients
• Float to sister ICCU unit as needed based on census

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown nursing experience required
• Active North Carolina or Compact State RN license (must be in hand at start)
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Strong critical care skills: arterial line management, vasoactive drip titration, telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management
• Proficiency with IV starts, conscious sedation, blood product administration, central line and PICC line management
• Experience with chest tubes, tracheostomy management, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and heparin protocols
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Flu vaccination required; COVID-19 vaccination not required
• Available for hospital orientation during first week (classes each day)
