Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week, 13-26 week contract

Highlights:

• Post-cardiac surgery step-down unit caring for patients following CABG, valve replacements, TAVR, and other cardiac/thoracic procedures
• Patient ratios vary by acuity: 1:4 for surgical step-down, 1:5-6 for lower acuity telemetry patients
• Comprehensive cardiac skill set required including sheath management/removal, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and cardiac drip titration
• Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management
• 24-hour unit orientation with interdisciplinary team support including pharmacy, respiratory, PT, and rapid response
• Weekend requirement: 4 shifts per 4-week period (flexible scheduling)

Requirements:

• Active North Carolina or Compact state RN license
• Minimum 2 years of cardiac telemetry experience required
• Travel nursing experience required unless candidate has more than 24 months of cardiac experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Must successfully pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Proficiency in cardiac telemetry, PCU/step-down care, sheath removal, dysrhythmia management, pre/post cardiac cath care, and management of cardiac drips
• Experience with chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, non-invasive airway management, and central/peripheral line care
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
