Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN) General Surgery – Wisconsin

Start Date: March 16, March 23, or March 30, 2026
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Operating room schedule with call coverage once on a weekday and one weekend every 4-5 weekends; 1:1 patient ratio

  • Multidisciplinary team environment supporting complex surgical cases across adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations
  • Preferred experience with kidney transplant procedures valued

Requirements:

  • Active Wisconsin RN license or valid Compact license from permanent address state (must be in hand at submittal)
  • Minimum two years of acute care experience within the last three years in general surgery specialty
  • BLS and ACLS certification through American Heart Association only
  • Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from work site
  • Proficiency with general surgery procedures including laparoscopic, robotic, trauma, and oncological cases
  • Experience with abdominal surgeries, hernia repairs, appendectomy, cholecystectomy, colectomy, and burns management
  • Trauma Level I or Level II experience preferred
  • Ability to convert laparoscopic cases to open procedures as needed
  • Comfort with cases transitioning to involve vascular surgery
  • Pass/fail telemetry competency testing required with strict passing criteria
