Location: Wilmington, North Carolina

Schedule: Days, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, every other weekend required

Highlights:

• ED Holding support position within the Float Pool caring for patients awaiting inpatient bed placement
• Target ratios: 1:7 for Medical/Surgical-Telemetry or 1:4 for Progressive Care Unit level patients
• 13-week assignment with 12-hour orientation
• Epic charting system with Pyxis medication dispensing
• Fast-paced environment requiring flexibility to float to Emergency Department and Medical/Surgical areas as needed
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including Respiratory Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Social Services

Requirements:

• Active North Carolina or Compact RN license
• Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Strong Medical/Surgical-Telemetry and Progressive Care Unit skills
• Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry monitoring, blood product administration, and IV management
• Experience with colostomy care, feeding tubes, renal failure management, chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and tracheostomy care
• Knowledge of NIHSS, IV insulin protocols, central line management, and wound care preferred
• Epic charting experience strongly preferred
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
