Description
Start Date: March 16, 2026
Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15), 36 hours per week, with at least 4 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
Highlights:
- Work in a dynamic Intermediate Critical Care Unit specializing in DKA, Sickle Cell, Sepsis, Respiratory Distress, Pneumonia, Heart Failure, and Stroke care
- Manageable patient ratios of 1:4 with self-scheduling balanced by staffing coordinator
- Function as a Rapid Response RN supporting critical care across the facility
- Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management
- 36-hour orientation with comprehensive onboarding support
- 13-week contract with potential for extension
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU or critical care nursing experience required
- Active North Carolina or Compact RN license (must be in hand at start)
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Epic charting system experience required
- Proficiency in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, cardiac drip titration, feeding tube management, heparin protocols, and PCA pumps
- Experience with vasoactive drip titration, ventilated patients, and wound care/wound vac preferred
- First-time travelers accepted; travel experience is a plus
- Willingness to float to Med-Surg units as needed (1:6 ratio)
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
