Location: Boone, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 3x12 night shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, up to 2 weekends per month, holiday rotation required

Highlights:

• Float pool position supporting IMCU and Medical-Surgical units based on patient volume needs
• 4:1 to 5:1 patient-to-nurse ratio with goal of 4:1, average daily census of 20–24 patients in a 24-bed unit
• Epic EMR system with recent proficiency required
• Blocked scheduling available if requested upfront (not guaranteed)
• Comprehensive patient population including adults, geriatrics, adolescents, and occasional pediatric patients
• Skills focus on telemetry, cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and stepdown-level care

Requirements:

• Active North Carolina RN license or Multistate Compact license
• Minimum 2 years of progressive care/stepdown nursing experience
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA), and NIHSS certifications required
• Recent Epic EMR experience and proficiency mandatory
• Previous travel nursing experience required
• Telemetry monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias skills essential
• Proficiency in central line care, blood product administration, cardiac drip management, and non-invasive airway management
• Must be comfortable caring for all age groups, including pediatric patients when needed
• Must reside more than 40 miles from the facility
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
