Description
Start Date: March 16, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 – 07:15), 36 or 48 hours per week, every other weekend required
Highlights:
- Adult and geriatric medical/surgical unit with general patient population, daily census approximately 43 patients
- Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:6-7, with charge nurse responsibilities for night shift travelers
- Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management
- Experience with insulin drips, heparin drips, wound vac dressing changes, and high flow oxygen required
- 13 to 26-week contract assignments available with 24 hours of unit orientation
- Float to similar units as needed; must be available for inclement weather team assignment
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of recent medical/surgical nursing experience
- Active North Carolina or Compact State RN license (pending acceptable for submission, required at start)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Epic EMR experience strongly required
- Competency with insulin and heparin drip management
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Charge nurse experience preferred; CPI certification preferred
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Willingness to work holidays (2 out of 3 major holidays required) and care for COVID-positive patients as needed
