Location: Charlottesville, Virginia

Schedule: Day shift, 36 or 48 hours per week, every other weekend and every other holiday required. Block scheduling cannot be accommodated. Up to 40 hours of time off available per 13-week contract.

Highlights:

• 24-bed specialty ICU focused on cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgical procedures including CABG, valve replacement/repair, heart and lung transplantation
• 2:1 patient ratio across all shifts for optimal patient care and professional support
• Epic charting system experience required
• 24 hours of orientation with interdisciplinary team support including PT, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• Advanced critical care skills utilized daily: ECMO, IABP, mechanical circulatory support, CRRT, epicardial pacing, and ventilator management
• Daily census of approximately 19 patients with comprehensive procedural support

Requirements:

• Active Virginia RN license or pending (must be in-hand the Wednesday prior to start date)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience with 2:1 patient ratio experience
• Epic charting system experience required
• Surgical ICU experience strongly preferred; Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• BSN degree preferred
• Flu vaccination required with no exemptions
• Willingness to float within scope of practice per facility policy
• Professional references required
