Schedule: 3x12 night shifts, includes weekdays and weekends; 1:2 patient ratio (acuity-based)

Highlights:

• 10-bed Cardiac Care Unit specializing in cardiothoracic surgery patients including CABGs, open valve replacements, thoracotomies, and carotid endarterectomies
• Direct fresh open-heart admissions from OR with advanced hemodynamic monitoring including Swan-Ganz management, Impella monitoring, and CRRT
• 13-week assignment with extension opportunities available
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
• 24 hours of orientation with Cerner EMR system
• May occasionally float to Medical ICU or Step Down Unit based on facility needs

Requirements:

• Registered Nurse with current West Virginia or Compact state license
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required
• ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications (BLS and ACLS must be via American Heart Association)
• ACT (Activated Clotting Time) experience is mandatory
• Demonstrated competency in direct open-heart admissions from OR, cardiac surgery skills, pressure monitoring, Swan-Ganz management, Impella monitoring, and CRRT
• Proficiency in arterial line management, IABP, sheath removal, continuous IV sedation, and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with blood product administration, central line care, vasoactive drip titration, and ventilated patient care
• Permanent address must be greater than 100 miles from facility (75-100 miles considered case-by-case)
• Minimum 2 manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years
