Location: Winston-Salem, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour day shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week, every other weekend required

Highlights:

• Primary neuroscience unit specializing in stroke patients, epilepsy, traumatic and non-traumatic subdural hematomas, and other neurological diagnoses
• 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio with a daily census of approximately 50 patients
• Epic charting system with full interdisciplinary support including IV teams, rapid response teams, and specialty services
• 13-week contract with 36 hours of paid orientation
• Floating required to other Med/Surg or Telemetry areas based on unit needs
• Unit features a specialized 4-bed Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU)

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year of direct Med/Surg experience required
• Previous travel experience required – first-time travelers will not be accepted
• Active North Carolina or Compact State RN license
• BLS, NIH, and NIHSS certifications required; ACLS preferred
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Proficiency in IV starts, telemetry interpretation, dysrhythmia management, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care
• Experience with stroke patients, seizure disorders, and neuro stepdown/PCU environments
• Epic charting system experience required
• Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
