Location: Winston-Salem, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour nights, 36 hours/week, 13-week assignment

Highlights:

• Mixed acuity unit combining PCU and Med-Surg/Telemetry patients in a 48-bed setting
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5 (may extend to 1:6 in extreme situations) with robust interdisciplinary support
• EMR: Epic; equipment includes chest tubes, ventilators, trachs, BiPAP/CPAP, and cardiac drips
• Patient population includes COPD exacerbations, pneumonia, respiratory distress, PE, and COVID-19 positive patients
• On-site resources include Admission/Discharge nurse, Assistant Nurse Manager, Vascular Access Team, RRT, Code Team, and Behavioral Health Team
• Weekend requirement: 4 weekend shifts per 6 weeks; floating to like units required

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Active North Carolina or Compact RN license (must be in hand by start date)
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS preferred
• Skills: IV start, ventilator care, telemetry monitoring, CPAP/BiPAP management, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Experience with Epic charting preferred; able to pass EKG testing prior to start
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• Flexible to float within facility based on unit needs and census
