Description
Start Date: April 20, 2026
Location: San Diego, California
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Variable start times (6:15 AM – 11:00 AM). On-call responsibilities include 12 hours Friday overnight and 12 hours Saturday (day or night depending on need) per 4-week schedule, with 30-minute response time.
Highlights:
- Provide advanced cardiovascular care including open heart surgery procedures
- Gain diverse surgical experience with orthopedic, neuro, and robotic cases when not performing cardiac procedures
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver holistic, patient-centered care
- Utilize comprehensive nursing process from assessment through evaluation and documentation
- Participate in patient education and family-centered care planning
- Flexible variable start times with structured on-call rotation
Requirements:
- Active California RN license
- Current CPR certification
- Strong cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) experience with open heart surgery
- Experience with orthopedic, neuro, and robotic surgical cases
- Minimum three years of recent RN experience in professional nursing role
- At least two years of recent experience in a specialty area
- Proficiency in nursing documentation systems (IPOC, IPER)
- Strong skills in patient advocacy, therapeutic communication, and interdisciplinary coordination
- English language proficiency (speak, read, write)
