Description
Start Date: April 6, 2026
Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Approximately 32 hours on-call per month; 1 weekend per month with 24-hour call coverage both days; no block scheduling available; RNs may float to Main OR if no CVOR cases scheduled
Highlights:
- Specialize in adult open heart surgery including CABG, aortic/mitral/pulmonic valve procedures
- Scrub experience required for open CVOR cases and TAVR procedures
- Work with advanced devices including Impella, HeartMate, ECMO, and laser lead extractions
- Hospital-provided scrubs included
- Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travelers
- First-time travelers will be considered; experienced travelers highly preferred
Requirements:
- Minimum 3+ years of nursing experience
- Active New Jersey or Compact state RN license required at time of submission
- BLS certification required; CNOR preferred
- Both scrub and circulate experience in cardiovascular surgery required
- Knowledge of devices: Impella, HeartMate, ECMO, laser lead extractions, and TAVR
- Experience with open heart adult surgery, CABG, and valve replacements (aortic, mitral, pulmonic)
- Must be available to work 2 of 3 holidays
- Completion of pre-start modules (average 18 non-billable hours) and competency assessments required
