Job Opportunity – Hematology Oncology RN – Ohio

Start Date: April 20, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Day/Night rotating shifts (12-hour shifts), self-scheduling with variable weekend coverage based on unit needs

Highlights:

  • Specialized 36-bed medical-surgical oncology unit focused on adolescent, young adult, and adult hematology and oncology patients
  • Patient population includes lymphoma, multiple myeloma, acute and chronic leukemias, sickle cell disease, and various hematologic conditions
  • Staffing ratios of 1:4 to 1:5 with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including rapid response teams, pharmacy, and social services
  • Advanced procedures including chemotherapy administration, blood product transfusions, oncologic emergency management, insulin and heparin drips
  • Epic electronic medical record system with telemetry monitoring on unit
  • 72 hours of orientation including preceptor-guided on-unit training

Requirements:

  • Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year of current specialty experience in medical-surgical or oncology nursing
  • BLS, ACLS, and ONS chemotherapy certification required
  • Experience with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
  • Proficiency in Epic charting system required
  • Demonstrated competency in IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, central line management, PICC line care, and port access
  • Education from ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
  • Two professional references required (at least one from manager/director or formal leadership)
  • Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
  • Ability to complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon contract signing
