Description
Start Date: April 27, 2026
Location: Wilmington, North Carolina
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Night shift, 36 hours per week, 13-week contract. Every other weekend required. 12-hour orientation provided.
Highlights:
- ED Holding unit supporting inpatient bed placement for adult medical/surgical patients
- Float pool position with flexibility to support Emergency Department and Medical/Surgical areas as needed
- Patient ratios: 1:6 for MS/Tele level or 1:4 for PCU level acuity
- High-acuity, fast-paced environment managing diverse diagnoses including cardiac, renal, neuro, and ortho trauma
- Epic charting system with Pyxis medication management and standard cardiac monitoring equipment
- Interdisciplinary support including Respiratory Services, Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Social Services
Requirements:
- Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state license)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care nursing experience required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
- Strong skills in MS/Tele, telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Competency in blood product administration, feeding tube management, chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP, high flow nasal cannula, and isolation precautions
- Experience with colostomy care, PICC lines, peripheral line management, phlebotomy, heparin and insulin protocols
- Preferred experience with IV insulin protocols, hemodialysis management, port access, CVA, neuro and ortho trauma, and wound care
- Comfortable with floating to Emergency Department and Medical/Surgical units based on census and patient needs
- Epic charting experience preferred
- Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
