Description
Start Date: June 15, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour shifts (days, nights, or rotating day/night) based on unit needs; self-scheduling with flexibility to accommodate preferences
Highlights:
- Specialize in caring for newly diagnosed acute leukemia patients on a 24-bed medical oncology unit
- Goal nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, with a maximum of 1:5
- Strong emphasis on infection prevention protocols and patient safety
- Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including Rapid Response Teams, Pharmacy, and Respiratory Services
- Two-week orientation: First week Monday-Friday dayshift, followed by 36 hours of on-unit precepting
- Oncology experience preferred but not required; Chemo certification not required
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year of current specialty experience
- Valid RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS and ONS Chemo Cert preferred
- Experience with telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, IV therapy, blood product administration, and central/PICC line management
- Proficiency with Epic charting system required
- Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- 2 professional references required (at least one must be from a manager/director or formal leadership role)
- Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required

Units are nice, staff are kind. Single patient rooms with 4:1 ratios day and night on med surg.
Cons
Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.
