Schedule: Self-scheduling with every other weekend required; 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio; 12-hour shifts

Highlights:

• 8-bed Progressive Care Unit serving adults and geriatric patients with cardiac, respiratory, and complex medical conditions
• Diverse case mix including post-cardiac procedures, A-fib/flutter, stable AMIs, high-flow oxygen therapy, insulin drips, and cardiac drip titration
• EPIC charting system in use; experience preferred
• Self-scheduling model with every other weekend requirement provides excellent work-life balance
• Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including PT, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and phlebotomy
• 16-hour orientation provided; contract follows Wednesday through Tuesday pay period

Requirements:

• Active Alabama RN license or compact license at time of submission
• Minimum 2 years of Progressive Care Unit (PCU) or Step-Down experience required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred (NIHSS also preferred)
• Experience with cardiac drips (Cardizem, Cardene, Amiodarone, Tridil, Heparin, renal-dose Dopamine)
• Competency in high-flow oxygen delivery, BiPAP/CPAP, insulin protocols, and dysrhythmia management
• Must reside outside a 90-mile radius from the facility
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions accepted for COVID-19 only)
• Travel nursing experience strongly preferred; new travelers with substantial step-down experience may be considered
