Description
Start Date: May 4, 2026
Location: Lubbock, Texas
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour shifts; 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period; floating between acute care units may be required; 48-hour weeks approved
Highlights:
- Brand new acute care surgery and emergency general surgery unit opening
- Level II Trauma Center with 379 staffed beds
- Patient ratios averaging 1:4.5 with comprehensive interdisciplinary support
- Epic EMR system; 24 hours of orientation provided
- Caring for adult and geriatric populations in a 27-bed unit
- One-year contract with first-time traveler friendly environment
Requirements:
- Active RN license (Compact license required at time of submission)
- Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical nursing experience
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Level II Trauma Center experience preferred
- Experience with patient ratios of 1:5 or similar
- Skills required include blood product administration, central line care, chest tube management, tracheostomy care, wound care/wound vac, IV management, and post-operative care
- 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
- Clean background check required
