Description
Start Date: June 1, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Day/Night or Night rotating shifts; self-scheduling with unit-based needs; 12-hour shifts with flexible weekend rotation
Highlights:
- Work at a comprehensive cancer center with 318 acute care beds and specialized oncology units
- Gain experience across multiple oncology specialties including BMT, Acute Leukemia, Hematology, Medical Oncology, Gynecological Oncology, and Surgical Oncology
- Staffing ratios: PCU 1:3-1:4 with mixed acuity; Med/Surg Telemetry 1:4-1:5
- Epic EMR system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- Structured orientation program: first week Monday-Friday day shift, followed by five bedside orientation shifts
- Opportunity to float to PCU Oncology and specialized Med/Surg Oncology units based on patient needs
Requirements:
- Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required at time of submission)
- Minimum 2 years of high acuity Med/Surg Telemetry or higher level experience required
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Experience with patient ratios up to 1:5
- Oncology experience preferred but not required; OCN and ONS/ONCC certifications are a plus
- Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Must have at least 1 year of current specialty experience within the past 3 years
- Strong clinical skills including chemotherapy administration/monitoring, port access and management, central line care, blood product administration, isolation precautions, and dysrhythmia management
- Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager/director or formal supervisor

Units are nice, staff are kind. Single patient rooms with 4:1 ratios day and night on med surg.
Cons
Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.
