Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey

Schedule: 12-hour shifts, patient ratio 1:2, every other weekend and holiday rotation required

Highlights:

• Cardiovascular ICU focused on fresh open heart patients including CABG, valve repairs/replacements, and TAVR procedures
• Complex patient population with ventilators, chest tubes, lumbar drains, acute and chronic renal failure, and advanced cardiac devices
• Float opportunities to all ICUs, PACU, ED ICU holding, and Cardiac IMC units based on clinical need
• Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including respiratory therapy, physical therapy, and pharmacy
• First-time travelers accepted; local candidates welcome at the same rate
• 13-week assignment with flexibility for experienced SICU nurses to cross-train into CVICU

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience required
• Active New Jersey or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
• CVICU experience with post-operative open heart recovery strongly preferred; SICU candidates with initial CVICU training may be considered
• Demonstrated proficiency with advanced cardiac devices: Impella, IABP, CRRT using Prismax
• Experience with invasive monitoring including Swan-Ganz catheters, FloTrac, arterial lines, and temporary pacers
• Competency in ventilator management, 12-lead EKG interpretation, chest tube care, and BiPAP/CPAP support
• Must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays during contract period
