Description
Start Date: June 1, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Day/Night rotation or Nights), 2:1 patient ratio, 72-hour orientation
Highlights:
- Medical Intensive Care Unit caring for hemodynamically compromised adult and geriatric patients
- Advanced critical care including mechanical ventilation, CRRT, pulmonary artery catheter placement, and complex medication regimens
- Epic charting system required; 24-bed unit with 23 average daily census
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
- Experience with chemotherapy administration, clinical trials, plasmapheresis, bronchoscopy, and endoscopy procedures
- Variable weekend shifts based on unit needs; two pre-approved time off periods available
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience (first-time travelers not accepted)
- Active Compact or Ohio RN license in hand at time of submission
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications
- Epic charting system proficiency required
- Demonstrated competency with ventilator management, IV starts, arterial line management, central line care, and vasoactive drip titration
- Experience with BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, continuous IV sedation, and blood product administration
- Nursing degree from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Two professional references required (at least one from formal leadership)
- Flu vaccination required (medical exemptions only)

Units are nice, staff are kind. Single patient rooms with 4:1 ratios day and night on med surg.
Cons
Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.
