Description
Start Date: April 20, May 4, or May 18, 2026
Location: Madison, Wisconsin
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: Evening/Night shifts, 12-hour rotations (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM), every other weekend and some holidays required
Highlights:
- 18-bed Neuroscience ICU within a Magnet-designated, Comprehensive Stroke Center
- Specialized care for critically ill adults with neuro diagnoses including stroke, brain injury, post-neurosurgery, and spinal cord injury
- 2:1 patient ratio across all shifts
- Epic charting system with full interdisciplinary support including PT, respiratory, pharmacy, and rapid response teams
- Advanced procedures including ICP monitoring, external ventricular drains (EVD), lumbar drains, and hemodynamic monitoring
- Ranked the #1 hospital in Wisconsin and recognized nationally as a leading teaching and referral center
Requirements:
- Active Wisconsin RN license or valid Compact license (must be in hand at time of submittal)
- Minimum 2 years of acute care RN experience within the past 3 years in critical care specialty
- Required experience with ICP monitoring or ventricular drains (EVD)
- Epic EMR experience required
- AHA BLS and ACLS certification required
- Basic Arrhythmia experience required; must pass telemetry exam prior to start with strict passing criteria
- Previous travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers not accepted
- Trauma Level I experience preferred
- Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions only)
