Description
Start Date: April 27, 2026
Location: Augusta, Georgia
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour shifts; every other weekend required; patient ratio typically 1:2 with free charge nurse support
Highlights:
- Specialized 10-bed Cardiovascular ICU caring for complex cardiac patients including LVADs, balloon pumps, Swan-Ganz catheters, temporary pacemakers, and CRRT
- Collaborative care model with intensivist present Monday–Friday and daily multidisciplinary rounds at 10 a.m.
- Titration of cardiac drips, vasoactive medications, and sedation for intubated patients
- Epic EMR system with average daily census of 7 patients
- First-time travelers accepted with minimum 2 years of critical care experience
- Up to 7 days of requested time off available (blackout: April 4–12)
Requirements:
- Active Georgia or Compact RN license (must be in hand at time of submittal)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Minimum 2 years of critical care nursing experience
- Experience with cardiovascular patient populations including post-cardiac surgery, CABG, TAVR, valve repair/replacement, and ventricular assist devices
- Proficiency in arterial line management, central line care, pulmonary artery catheter monitoring, IABP, hemodynamic monitoring, and ventilator management
- Two supervisory references (Manager level or above) highly preferred at time of submission
- Willingness to float within facility and scope of practice as needed
- Availability to work major holidays per facility policy
