Schedule: Float coverage to different units as needed; Patient ratios 2-3 patients per nurse

Highlights:

• Level III NICU caring for neonates from 22 weeks gestation and above, with a daily census of approximately 30 patients
• Comprehensive case mix including respiratory distress, glucose management, neonatal abstinence syndrome, and pre/post-surgical or cardiac intervention care
• EPIC charting system with full interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory services, physical therapy, radiology, and social services
• Advanced procedures including ventilator management, arterial and central line care, and umbilical catheter management
• Pyxis medication system for administering IV vasopressors, surfactants, and steroids
• SBAR communication methodology used for effective team collaboration and family-centered care

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of NICU Level III or Level IV experience
• Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
• Valid Compact or Ohio state RN license required at time of submission
• Nursing degree from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Proficiency in cardiovascular dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Experience with neonates less than 24-28 weeks gestation
• Competency in various feeding methods and enteral tube management
• Expertise in ventilator settings including AC/PC/SIMV/CPAP/BIPAP/PEEP
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only)
• Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager or director
