Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, 36 or 48 hours per week, every other weekend required

Highlights:

• Neuroscience specialty unit with primary focus on stroke, seizure disorders, subdural hematomas, and traumatic brain injuries
• 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio with a daily census of approximately 50 patients
• Epic charting system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, rapid response, respiratory services, and pharmacy
• 13-week contract with 36 hours of paid orientation
• Exposure to neurosurgical patients, epilepsy monitoring, and advanced neuro care

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year of direct Med/Surg experience required
• Previous travel nursing experience required – first-time travelers will not be accepted
• Active RN license (North Carolina or Compact state)
• Current certifications: BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) required; ACLS strongly preferred
• Proficiency in IV starts, telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start date
• Flexibility to float to other Med/Surg or Telemetry units as needed
• Comfort with neuro patient populations including CVA, traumatic brain injury, seizure disorders, and spinal cord injuries
