Description
Start Date: June 15, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts; schedule reviewed every 4-week period based on department needs
Highlights:
- Med Surg Oncology unit specializing in AYA (Adolescent and Young Adult) patient population with 36-bed capacity
- Patient ratio of 1:4 with focus on cardiac monitoring related to chemotherapy administration and symptom management
- Epic EMR system required; 72 hours of orientation provided
- Strong interdisciplinary support including PT, respiratory services, pharmacy, rapid response teams, and more
- Oncology experience preferred but not required for qualified Med Surg RNs
- Equipment includes GE telemetry monitors, Alaris pumps, and bladder scanners
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years RN experience required; at least 1 year of current specialty experience within the last 3 years
- Epic charting system experience required
- BCLS certification required
- Previous travel experience and Ohio RN license or active Compact license in hand at time of submission
- Proficiency in interpretation of dysrhythmias, accessing ports, arterial line management, blood product administration, central/PICC line care, IV starts, chest tube assistance, high flow nasal cannula, and ABG interpretation
- Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- 2 professional references required (1 must be from formal leadership)
- Must be available to complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon contract signing

Units are nice, staff are kind. Single patient rooms with 4:1 ratios day and night on med surg.
Cons
Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.
