Description
Start Date: June 29, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour rotating day/night shifts; shift assignments reviewed every 4-week scheduling period based on department needs; weekend coverage variable based on unit needs; 1:4 nurse-to-patient ratio
Highlights:
- 36-bed Medical Surgical Oncology unit serving adult and geriatric populations with diverse cancer diagnoses and symptom management needs
- Oncology experience preferred but not required for qualified Med/Surg RNs with strong acute care skills
- Epic charting system; 72 hours of comprehensive unit orientation provided
- Continuous cardiac monitoring for chemotherapy administration; management of ports, central lines, and chemotherapy-related care
- Comprehensive interdisciplinary support including pharmacy, respiratory services, rapid response teams, physical therapy, and social services
- Opportunity to work with specialized equipment including GE telemetry systems, Alaris pumps, and bladder scanners
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience required; current specialty experience within the last 3 years strongly preferred
- Current BLS certification required
- Epic charting system experience required
- Valid compact or Ohio RN license in hand at time of application
- Previous travel nursing experience preferred
- Nursing education from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Clinical skills required: interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, accessing and managing ports, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line management, IV insertion, chest tube assistance, high flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, chemotherapy administration, BiPAP/CPAP management, PCA management, tracheostomy care, and insulin drip titration
- Willingness to float to other Medical Surgical Oncology units as needed
- Two professional references required: at least one from a manager, director, or formal leadership role; charge nurse acceptable for second reference

Units are nice, staff are kind. Single patient rooms with 4:1 ratios day and night on med surg.
Cons
Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.
