Description
Start Date: July 13, 2026
Location: Columbus, Ohio
Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants
Schedule: 12-hour shifts (Days/Nights or Night rotation available); self-scheduling with balanced assignments every 4 weeks; variable weekend shifts based on unit needs
Highlights:
- 36-bed Oncology Telemetry unit with over 24 progressive care beds serving high-acuity patients
- Patient population includes solid tumor, orthopedic oncology, and thoracic oncology diagnoses
- Nurse-to-patient ratios: 1:3 for PCU patients, 1:4-5 for Med-Surg Telemetry
- Epic charting system; GE telemetry monitors, Alaris pumps, and standard PCU equipment
- Oncology experience preferred but not required – high-acuity PCU experience is essential
- Comprehensive orientation: first week Monday-Friday days, second week 36 hours on-unit with preceptor
Requirements:
- Active RN license (Compact or Ohio state license required at submission)
- Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience with at least 1 year current specialty experience in high-acuity PCU
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale
- Education from ACEN or CCNE accredited program
- Core skills: dysrhythmia interpretation, IV management, port access, blood product administration, central/PICC line care, feeding tube management, PCA pumps, chest tubes, BiPAP/CPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, tracheostomy care, cardiac drip management, and use of rapid response teams
- Previous travel experience preferred
- Willingness to float to equivalent or lower acuity units
- Two professional references required (one must be from a manager or formal leader)

Units are nice, staff are kind. Single patient rooms with 4:1 ratios day and night on med surg.
Cons
Scheduled every weekend, floated for the first 6 weeks of contract every shift. Not traveler friendly even though they say they are. Staff are treated well not travelers.
